Asymmetric Anterior Maxilla Recontouring with Augma Bond Apatite®

Achieving long-term aesthetic success by replacing missing frontal teeth with dental implants is challenging for most clinicians. Predictable results can be achieved with adequate diagnosis, correct surgical technique and prosthodontics.

Several variables can impact the outcome: exiting inflammatory periodontitis, surgical site, gingival phenotype, surgical protocol, implants design, restorative approach and maintenance.

A 72 years old male, was referred to our clinic for rehabilitation of maxilla with dental implants.

He is a nonsmoking patient, but with severe, untreated periodontitis. Gingival recessions and poor oral hygiene led to carious destruction of the anterior teeth and as direct consequence, the mobility of the bridge.

The treatment plan involves scaling and root planning, and the treatment of periodontitis on the lower jaw.

Decontamination and laser photo – biomodulation of both jaws to reduce inflammation and to promote healing.

The surgical stage involves the extraction of the anterior maxillary teeth, and the immediate insertion of implants. Bone augmentation is done with Bond Apatite® and followed with immediate loading.

After 6 months definitive prosthodontics are placed.
