Using a physio dispenser, drill with a contra-angle handpiece at a speed ranging between 800-1600 RPM at a high torque and constant saline cooling. The speed depends on the hardness in the drilling area.
Manual stabilization during the initial socket creation using B.Y.1. is required.
After the initial drilling, use the consequent B.Y. diamond milling bur.
Check with the osteotome for a breach of the membrane – if a gap is detected it means there is no breach.
Every 2 clockwise rotations of the stopper adds 1mm in length. For example – If B.Y. 2 is reached, set the osteotome to 3mm when checking for a breach.
When there is no gap, and the sinus has been breached, it is time to elevate the membrane.
